Students are expected to be at all mandatory performance for their ensemble! Sometimes during the year, there are events that are "optional." Students will have the option to sign-up for these events and then be expected to be present, unless they have alerted Miss Karnick of a conflict as soon as possible.
Please consider your schedule - practices and rehearsals vs. performances!
Music is a team effort and our concerts are a test of the students' musical growth. Missing students hurt the team.
Students are expected to be ready to go at their call-time, meaning they should count on arriving 5-10 minutes earlier than when they are called. It will be noted when a student arrives more than 5 minutes late.
Some conflicts are unavoidable. Always, email Miss Karnick as soon as possible. An alternate assignment will be given and due 2 weeks after the missed concert.
Choir Uniform
There are two choir uniforms for the Fremont Singers.
Formal For formal performances, students will be required to wear concert black, meaning black head-to-toe. This combines students choice and uniformity. Black head-to-toe includes leggings or opaque tights to be worn under skirts and dresses. Jewelry should be minimal. School dress code applies.
Informal For informal performances, students will be required to wear their green Fremont Singers t-shirt that has been provided to them. Students provide their own jeans and shoes.
Preparation for Class
Every day, students are expected to bring their music binder (which may be kept in the classroom), a pencil, and completed assignments.
Additionally, students should focus on singing, making positive contributions, and supporting their fellow choristers.
